Inspiring imagination every weekend..
We note amendments to Level 3 restrictions from December 3rd means we must stay with online tuition and virtual learning for now when we had hoped to return to venues.
As a company and industry, we are saddened by latest news for our students and teachers. We are resolute however that student mental health and love of the arts for all of us, is not jeopardised.
We are determined and committed to find positive, creative and safe alternatives that matter to your children and teenagers.
We know many are struggling right now, so if we can help in anyway, be it "a shout out story on facebook" or a private message or card in the post etc, please let us know before the end of term. We are here for you as parents and our students.
Your children's arts education matters and it is an essential service to them and you. If it matters to them, we know it matters to you.
There is no lockdown on creativity and we continue to forge great partnerships with Digital Theatre +, RTE Television and Music Theatre International.
We have an exciting announcement next term for our senior students as we devise, script and perform 5 ten minute radio plays for unique podcast with RTE Jr, we are looking at safe outdoor broadcasts, in person classes as soon as possible, plus a filmed drama competition and our Spring Talent Show will go ahead in March. Online, On stage, off stage, outside. This will happen! Our children will perform together and our Easter Egg extravaganza will be back!
Of course, the only true normality is when we can all be together with children holding hands in a group physical warm up, dancing, acting and singing in a theatre with an audience again.
The improved breakout rooms on Zoom, audio technology, Digital Theatre +, Puppetry, and Junior Stage story and dance classes have provided us with much joy, laughter, entertainment, but also high quality work from students.
Thank you so much for keeping the schools alive this year.. We came very close to closing our doors after thirteen successful years. As a private theatre school and educator, the company receives no government funding, grants or allowances and so without you, there is no StageSchool Ireland
It’s been a year like no other and we are grateful for the unbelievable support.
Classes run until December 18th and 19th.
Best Wishes
John Lucey
