Paula McGlinchey, Centre Director

Paula is a drama coach and professional actor, she trained with Bow Street academy. Born in Galway, Paula spent much of her life in Zimbabwe where she was artistic director of the Chimanimani Arts Festival. She studied Drama, English and Politics at Durban University (Kwa Zulu Natal) and contemporary dance at the London Studio Centre. While based in Cork she co-founded Metamorphic Theatre Company and devised plays and workshops for primary level. Paula was an actor, collaborator & sound designer with Cyclone Repertory Company, touring Shakespeare in schools and theatres throughout Ireland. She was a member of Broken Crow Theatre Company developing new and innovative work. Having completed The Fishamble Playwriting course Paula wrote and performed Voices from the Cailleach, Jack Healy, Engage Arts Festival. Now based in Dublin, her recent work includes: ‘What I don’t Know About Autism’ Abbey Theatre, about:blank, Dublin Theatre Festival, The Bed, a solo play, Cork midsummer Festival, A Great Arrangement, The Gaiety Theatre Dublin, The Mac in Belfast, Everyman Cork, Prospect House, Broken Crow, 4.48 Psychosis, Bare Cheek Theater Company, The Tempest, The Mil Theatre Company, Macbeth National tour, The Alice Trilogy and the Letter Project Cork Midsummer. Television includes: KIN 2 Felix Thompson KS2 Productions, Red Rock Laura Way TV3/BBC, Line of Duty Daniel Neitheim BBC, a central role in The New Music which won the Spirit of Indie Cork and role in a Junior Brothers music video which won three Shark awards 2023.
