Kayla Cartmell, Dance Teacher, Westport

Kayla is currently studying a BA in Contemporary Dance with the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick. Kayla’s dance career began in 2014 with Kinetic Energy Dance Studio in South Africa. Here,. she studied and competed in styles such as contemporary, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, latin and ballroom. Five years later, Kayla was accepted into Jozi Youth Dance Company and trained by by multiple choreographers per season while learning the demands of a professional dance company. Kayla subsequently moved to Ireland in 2021 where she began dancing with the Mayo School Of Ballet and completed her ballet intermediate studies as well as grade 5 Jazz exam. Kayla has also a QQI in Sports Nuitrition and Dietetics from the Mayo College of Further Education. With extensive training and experience across multiple genres of dance, Kayla is absolutely thrilled to join the team in our exciting Westport centre!
