John Lucey FRSA Director
After leading roles at The Questors Theatre, John trained as a professional actor at Arts Ed London graduating with full equity status. A Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts, John has worked as an actor, youth theatre producer and educator for over 25 years. Alongside his wife and co-founder Eliz, they have established a successful and safe network of theatre schools for children and teenagers which have educated over 4,000 students in seventeen years. All in small, age appropriate classes with the focus on arts education (over performance) but fun, practical and with measurable results. John believes children love performing but loathe long rehearsal periods so the focus is on a triple threat training programme with equal status to dance, drama and singing lessons. This complements and benefits normal academic study with skills for life!
John has designed and facilitated numerous, Musical Theatre, Filmmaking and Acting For The Screen courses and is Artistic Director of Teenage Stage International Summer Schools which welcome over 150 students each summer to Ireland from across the world. The summer schools have since been featured and received five star reviews in The Sunday Times in 2023.
His theatre and screen credits include The Bill, (ITV), Uncle Max, (BBC), Fair City, (RTE), The God Club, (Panoptican Pictures for FilmFour), Sleeping Around, (Lyric Hammersmith) and Coffee, Cigarettes and Paranoia, (Royal Court) John is represented by New Wonder Management in London by agents, John Byrne and Lola Williams who have over 30 years industry experience. He is an incurable QPR supporter!
