Teenage Stage, the creative arts educational holiday for 11 to 19 year olds, announce two courses at limited availability for this summer.
Established in 2015 as part of the StageSchool Ireland rebrand and supported by Centre for Drama and Theatre Studies at NUIG, the advanced, intensive courses give teens a residential experience combined with option to perform a full Broadway musical or create original films behind or in front of camera. Using professional and respected theatre directors, resident staff and some of the leading film tutors in Ireland.
Co Founder and Course Director, John Lucey, said "We are delighted by strong forward bookings of Teenage Stage supported in secondary schools as well as industry" he explained "organic growth hasn't compromised the artistic quality or learning experience but enhanced our page to stage and script to screen timetable"
"We passionately believe in the courses which bring like minded young people together for a unique experience, where they can be themselves with special summer memories and work to a goal in the best boarding schools in Ireland"
The 2019 courses include two Legally Blonde JR theatre programmes at St Columba's College, Dublin, June 30th to 6th July and Clongowes Wood College, 14th to 20th July. Both finale's offer a full show with lighting, professional sound, digital projections and professional costumes to live audience on Saturday evening with the latter at the wonderful Moat Theatre in nearby Naas in Kildare.
Due to their successful sold out Acting For The Screen and Film making course last summer, the company has again teamed up with Clapperboard Junior Film School to produce two contrasting courses over 7 or 13 days where students perform in front of camera to a professional standard. Alternatively for youngsters keen behind camera and learning how to make professional films as beginners,, they may write, edit and shoot three five minute films on the course with a fun premiere popcorn screening at end of their summer school. Simply choose Drama Crew or Film Crew at booking stage and these are now live for 21st July to 3rd August or 28th July to 3rd August with more info at www.teenagestage.com and www.stageschool.ie
